The Book of
Melodious Merriment

A fine collection of tavern songs, unfinished verses and chords that sounded better the first time.

SONG I

The Road Owes Me Supper

Begin softly. Save breath for stew.

I walked till the stones knew the holes in my shoes,

With a song in my throat and no coin left to lose.

So fill up the bowl and put bread by the fire—

A bard cannot sing on good manners and desire.

Feed me tonight and I'll sing till the morn.

Feed me again and I'll consider staying on.

Bram dislikes the third verse. Bram dislikes most things.

The voice is excellent. The handwriting is legible with patience. The lute remains under review.
